How to make a TikTok comment screenshot for a reply video or a meme
Published 31 October 2026
Reply videos, memes and ad concepts often start with a single comment on screen. Here is how to build a believable TikTok comment section in a few minutes, and the details that give a made-up one away.
What you need
The comment you want to show, the usernames, and your reply if there is one. Fakeconvo's TikTok comments generator draws the comment sheet as it looks on a phone, is free, needs no account and puts no watermark on the PNG. Profile pictures stay in your browser and are never uploaded.
Five steps to a realistic TikTok comment
- Set up the people. Under People, the person marked "me" is the video's creator and gets the "Creator" badge next to their name, so type your handle there, like "jules.bakes". Rename the others to viewer usernames, press "+ Add person" for more, and tap the round button before a name to add a profile picture.
- Write the comment you answer. Add a comment, pick who wrote it in the name menu, and type it the way people really comment: short, often lowercase, maybe one emoji. Set its "Time" as an age, like "2d", and its "Likes" exactly as they should show, like "12.3K".
- Thread the replies. On any later comment, choose the comment it answers under "Reply to". It moves indented under the first comment of that thread, and a reply to a reply shows "▸" and the name it answers. Add your own answer with "+ From me" so it carries the Creator badge.
- Set the comment count. Under Settings, the field "Comment count in the header" shows at the top of the sheet as "4,812 comments"; leave it empty and it counts the comments you wrote. Switch on "Dark mode" if your video uses it, and turn off "Show timestamps" to hide the ages.
- Export and place it. Download the PNG at 2x or 3x. For a reply video, crop it to the comment in your video editor and lay it over the first second of the clip, where viewers expect the comment you answer.
Details that give a comment away
Round numbers look typed in: 10K likes on every comment never happens, 12.3K, 842 and 57 do. The top comment usually has the most likes and replies far fewer, and a header count lower than the comments on screen doesn't add up.
Times have to agree: a reply can't be older than the comment it answers, so a "2d" comment takes replies of "1d" or "20h". Usernames that all look alike, perfect punctuation in every comment, and a creator who answers everyone in the same tone give the whole thing away.
Use it the right way
TikTok comment mockups are for reply videos, memes, skits, ad concepts, video scripts and lessons on social media. Do not put words in the mouth of a real creator or a real account, do not invent comments to mock or harass someone, and do not pass a mockup off as a real comment. Our acceptable use page has the details.
