30 Facebook post ideas for businesses, pages and groups
Published 2 November 2026
Facebook still rewards posts that start a conversation in the comments. Here are 30 posts to adapt for a shop, a local page, a club or a client's content plan, sorted by what they do, and a free way to see one as a finished Facebook post before it goes to a client, an ad or a deck.
What makes a post people comment on
The first line is all most people read before "See more", so put the news or the question there. Keep the rest to two or three short paragraphs, add one good photo, and end with something easy to answer: a choice between two things, a memory, a quick yes or no. A post that asks for nothing gets nothing.
Small business updates
- "Fresh out of the oven: our cinnamon rolls are back for the weekend. Come early, they never last past noon."
- "We're closed Monday for a staff training day. See you Tuesday at 8 am, with new coffee on the menu."
- "Meet Sam, who has been fixing bikes in our workshop for 6 years. Say hi next time you're in!"
- "New in store this week: handmade mugs from a potter two streets away. Only 24 of them."
- "Thank you for 1,000 followers! To celebrate, every order this week gets a free tote bag."
- "Behind the scenes: this is what our kitchen looks like at 5 am. Worth it."
- "Holiday opening hours: open every day until the 23rd, then closed until the 2nd."

Questions people actually answer
- "Coffee or tea to start the day? Wrong answers only."
- "Which one should we add to the menu next: pistachio or salted caramel?"
- "Tag the friend who always says "just five more minutes"."
- "What was the first thing you ever bought with your own money?"

- "Be honest: how many unread emails do you have right now?"
- "What's one place in town everyone should visit at least once?"
- "Rate your Monday from 1 to 10. We'll go first: a solid 6."

Preview a post before you use it
Open the Facebook post generator. Under People, type the page's name (invented, like "Juniper Bakery") and tick "Verified badge" only for a big brand. The first message is the post: paste your text, press "Photo" to add an image, and set its "Time" as an age, like "3h".
Fill in "Likes", "Comments" and "Shares" in proportion, shares the smallest. Every message after the post is a comment, so add two or three from different invented people to show how the question lands. Pick light or dark mode under Settings and download the PNG at 2x or 3x for your client, ad or slide.
Use it the right way
Post mockups are for planning content, ad previews, client approvals, pitch decks and lessons, with invented pages and people. Never put words in a real person's or brand's mouth, never invent a post to mock or harass someone, and never pass a mockup off as a real post. Our acceptable use page has the details.
Fakeconvo makes mockups and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Facebook or Meta Platforms, Inc. Facebook is a trademark of Meta Platforms, Inc.; the name is used only to describe the style.
